Jan. 23, 2013 – It is more than frigid in New Hampshire today; it is downright glacial! I am a chicken medium and can read pine shavings. I spent most of my morning inside the coop, dropping them one by one into the bottom of our waterer, taking careful note of each swirl and position of landing. I started to read what the shavings have in store for Peaches; beautiful moments frozen in time. That’s as far as I got. Mom stopped by and switched out our waterer with a fresh one. I could have started over but the moment had passed. Instead I took off my bandana, ate some scratch and took a nap.
