Mar. 11, 2013 – I am so late writing in my journal today! I had an encyclopedia salesduck at my coop door that I couldn’t get rid of! I tried being polite, I tried being assertive… I even tried the ole, “I think I hear my kettle whistling” maneuver to no avail. That duck was persistent if nothing else. I finally invited him in for tea so he could see that we don’t have room for a set of encyclopedias. During our discussion, I started to feel badly for him. It can’t be easy trying to muck out a living by going door-to-door. After several hours I was able to convince him to get a degree in computer science and I gave him my old laptop. Paying it forward! I also got big thumbs up from the girls in Charlotte’s coop as they watched the duck pass by their door and head into his new and exciting future. All in a day’s work. Goodnight!
