Mar. 29, 2013 – It felt like spring today! I was enjoying the warmth of the sun from my thinking log when a commotion began in the run next to me. What a show! Hattie, Betty and Waffles were in the midst of a long overdue dirt bath when Timothy, our new bantam buddy, decided to join them. Dust was flying, as the girls scratched and tossed earth up and over their bodies. Tim followed suit squiggling himself into the ground next to Waffles. There’s about a five-pound difference between the two of them. At one point, Waffles rolled over onto her back and Tim disappeared. Two seconds later, his head popped out from under her tail feathers as if to say, “I’m all right people. No cause for concern.” Which is a funny thought, since neither Waffles nor her sisters seemed aware of Tim being in the run with them in the first place! I need to have a chat with that boy.
