Mar. 31, 2013 – I overheard Wilma and the other ladies chatting last night. Someone in the group said that chickens are living dinosaurs. Well, who wouldn’t want to have some fun with this?! First, I made huge footprints out of twigs and left them all around the outside of our run. Then, with my emergency flashlight, I made a giant shadow silhouette of myself on the coop wall. The best was the booming roar I blasted into a megaphone as I sent a boulder flying off the top of our roof. It landed so hard that the ground shook. Everyone was screeching and squawking. I would have gotten away with my prank if I hadn’t scared myself in the process. When the ground shook, I lost my balance and fell backwards into the compost pile. I’m just guessing, but I think I landed in Wilma’s manure and blacked out. When I came to, I was back in my nesting box with 13 annoyed faces peering down at me. Gees – 65 million years later and they still can’t take a joke.
