Apr. 3, 2013 – What a beautiful, bright sunny day. Windy, though. Wilma laid an egg in the run this morning, (she recalls burping and nothing else), but the egg never hit the ground. The second it came out of her, a big gust of wind came along and snapped the egg like a hiked football. I guess that would make me the quarterback. I happened to look up to see Wilma’s ova hurling toward my face as if it had been shot out of a cannon! Thank goodness for soft wings and quick reflexes. I put her egg in the nesting box where it belongs and went on with my day. Wilma is still trying to figure out what gave her gas.
