Apr. 15, 2013–I was on my way back from the mailbox after barely finishing my tax return, when I was knocked to the ground by an extremely irritated Charlotte. Sawyer helped me to my feet. “Broody again?” I asked her about the puffed up, ball of squawking dervish that just blew by us. “Yup,” she replied, “and she’s on a rant!” I can’t say that I blame her. This happens to Charlotte every year. Most likely Mom will bring her in for a couple of days until the hormonal firestorm that wreaks havoc with her normally charming sensibilities, resumes to less threatening levels. In the meantime, I’ll be sneaking a pot of chamomile tea into her water.
