May 10, 2013– Big happenings today! Two men in yellow helmets came in a big truck and cut down the three woodpecker trees in our grove. Mom was afraid they were going to topple over on us while we were free ranging. They were dead and loaded with bugs that the woodpeckers like to eat. I’m sure they were filled with the kind of bugs that chickens like to eat, if we could only figure out a way to scratch and peck vertically. Ooh… late breaking news! Mom just told us that the men left a couple of logs behind for us! She’s going to put them in our runs tonight. WHOOO HOOO! Let the bug hunting begin!
