June 4, 2013 – Mom called me over to the side of our run today with a frantic, “PSST!” to ask me if I could fix her computer on the low-down. First of all Mom – no one uses that term anymore. Second of all, you have a brand new computer with state-of-the-art software that works fine. You just need to watch the tutorial on how to use it. She resisted my suggestion stating that the software is “too far out there” for her to make heads or tails of. Too far out there?! What do you call conducting a secret meeting with a chicken? Sure, I could fix her old laptop in a heartbeat. But I love her too much to be her enabler. Instead, I’ll be teaching her Windows 8 tomorrow morning after breakfast. I hope she likes mealworms and grubs.
