June 6, 2013–Today, Sawyer, Bo and I are celebrating our second birthdays! On a little table set against the inside wall of Mrs. Lacourse’s kindergarten classroom, the three of us hatched in the same incubator on the same day. I don’t remember much about that time, though mysteriously, I know all of the words to several children’s songs and I have very strong rhyming skills. Mom used to talk to us while we were inside our shells just like she does now. To celebrate our birthdays, she gave us each three whole strawberries with our breakfast today. We had mealworm and flaxseed pizza for lunch, and tonight we’re going to a Lightning Bug concert featuring the Cicadas, who haven’t played onstage in 17 years! If that isn’t present enough, Sawyer and I gave each other a baby goat! Mom said that we’ll have to wait to pick them out, but that’s okay. It gives us time to think of names. I’m going to ride mine all over the chicken yard and take it with me when I go on science expeditions. Happy Birthday to me!!
