June 7, 2013– I found a harmonica while I was exploring the garage today so I started to teach myself how to play. It was a bit awkward at first since I don’t have lips, but my tongue evidently was born to play the Reckless Tram! I am a fantastic harmonica player! Within seconds of tooting my own creation, the entire flock had gathered around me. My wings were dancing some serious air ballet as I blasted a zippy tune out of that old tin sandwich. It was a brilliant feeling showing off in front of my friends until I noticed their horrified expressions. Then suddenly, someone shrieked, “DO IT BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!” and something fast and furious hit me in the back of the head. I wobbled in place while the harmonica exploded from my mouth like a rocket, ringing pleasantly around the rim of a nearby trash barrel until stunning us in silence. My eyes pleaded with Sawyer for answers. “Thank goodness we got here in time!” she wheezed. “We heard a dreadful noise coming from the garage and knew someone was in trouble. How in the name of everything chicken did you get that piece of metal lodged in your mouth? You could have choked to death!” Talk about party poopers. Tonight, when everyone is asleep, I’m going to recover that mouth harp and we are going to make beautiful music together – even if it means closing the garage door!
