June 8, 2013– I set my favorite TV show, The Real Hens of Honolulu, to record on DVD tonight since I will be attending the pullets’ dance recital. I love dancing, but I’d rather be home watching my show over a nice cup of tea and a couple of sunflower seed cookies. Since Bo is the Daddy-O to these three snickerdoodles, attendance is mandatory. Sawyer is especially excited since her girl, Hattie is performing a solo. This should be good. I love Hattie and all, but she’s the one who’s always left trying to find her way out of the run when Mom opens the door to let them range. We call to her, “Hattie – just follow the others!” but Waffles and Betty take off like a shot leaving poor Hattie pacing back and forth under her coop until one of us walks over and guides her out the door. Tonight she is performing a modern interpretation to the song, “Muskrat Love”. Oh, boy. The other two, Wilma’s daughters, have a tap number that they’ve been rehearsing for all of about ten minutes. This should be interesting. Settle in people, there’s going to be some good old-fashioned fun tonight at Miss Loxi Lu’s Professional Poultry School of Dance.
