July 17, 2013– In this weather it is best to move about as little as possible during the hottest part of the day. The girls and I found a lovely shaded spot in which to rest and shield ourselves from the nasty temperatures that hover around the century mark. Within moments, the slight breeze which lifted over my outstretched wings lulled me into a deep sleep. I dreamt that I was loping through blades of cool, green grass cheerfully pursuing an orangey-red leaf that swooped and flit and floated from an overhead tree bidding my legs to follow. I woke up several minutes later to a disgusted Wilma whose body I had apparently spooned and drooled over. The imprint of her neck feathers is still visible on my face. She may not be happy, but I feel revitalized.
