July 18, 2013 – I am so excited for “Movie Night” tonight. Mom strung an old white sheet between two trees for our screen and she’s going to run the projector from the back window of the house. We’ll be able to watch the movie from our run, just like we’re at a drive-in theater. We’ve already lined up the folding chairs and popped the corn. I’ve had my blender working overtime whipping up slushies for everyone. We had a vote over which film to watch and the winner is “The Sound of Music”. It’s a favorite of ours because we love to sing with Julie Andrews and all those kids! Peaches, Sawyer and I get a kick out of substituting Wilma’s name for the lead when we sing “How do you solve a problem like Maria?” She doesn’t mind. She soaks it all in until it’s time for “Edelweiss” and then, she lets it rip, even standing near the screen in order to croon up close and personal with Christopher Plummer. Bo cracks everyone up when he sings his own version of another favorite; “High on a hill lives a lonely goat turd”. It’s so rude, but it makes me laugh every time! I love these fun summer nights.
