July 31, 2013 – Peaches came with me today to bring the Vespa back to Mr. Shumway’s Hot Deals on Wheels and Rental Station. On the walk back home she told me how much she loves Broadway musicals and asked, “Wouldn’t it be fun if we all went to New York City to see a show?” “It’s a possibility,” I reasoned, “though costly, and a logistical nightmare.” How would we even begin to manage a trip that big? “I’ve got an idea!” Peaches enthused walking backwards in front of me. “Let’s put on our own musical! You can write the story, Sawyer can compose the music, and Wilma can choreograph the dance numbers. She already has a big stick that she likes to tap on the ground when we’re bugging her. The rest of us can sew costumes, build sets and all of us can perform! We’ll invite everyone we know and their friends, too! With the money we raise we can rent an RV and buy theater tickets!” I have to admit that her plan is appealing although the thought of driving an RV through the streets of the Big Apple is a bit daunting. It took both me and Sawyer to drive Mom’s van, and we only got as far as the driveway. I’m sure we’ll figure it out. “Let’s do it!” I agreed and we immediately broke into the soundtrack to Phantom of the Opera.
