August 25, 2013 – The summer is starting to slip away, so we decided to slow it down by having a BBQ. Bo got the charcoal grill going while I helped Sawyer put together night crawler and butternut squash shish kabobs. They were so delicious! Charlotte and Addie and the rest of the Orpington hens whipped up some fabulous salads and Wilma sent the three young hens in search of blueberries; this time with Tim as their escort. It was a wonderful afternoon topped off with vanilla yogurt and watermelon. We were all sticky when we finished eating, so I held the hose as everyone washed up. Later, we sat around the fire pit with Mom and the rest of the family and sang camp songs until bedtime. Life is very good for this happy chicken.
