September 1, 2013 – It was very humid last night and I had trouble sleeping. The rest of the flock managed to get a little shut eye, but I was restless. At one point, I looked out the coop window at the big house and noticed that Mom was still up. So I sent her a text message and asked if I could come see her. It was 2:00 in the morning! I’ve never been up that late in my life! It was wonderful! While the rest of our human and animal family slept, Mom and I sat on the couch sharing a bowl of popcorn, watching reruns of “The Golden Girls”. That show is hilarious. We laughed until we snorted; (quietly though, so as not to wake up anyone). At one point, we roared at how much longer Mom’s legs are than mine. My feet didn’t even reach the edge of the sofa! I don’t remember falling asleep but Mom must have carried me back to the coop, because when I woke up today I was in my nesting box. I took a long nap this afternoon to catch up on whatever beauty sleep I missed the night before. I was going to tell the girls about my night, but decided not to. I don’t want them the feel like they missed out on a great adventure. I will though, get out the DVD player and introduce them to the best comedy show ever!
