September 10, 2013 – I have to say that it is not at all pleasant being grounded. I was stuck in the run all day! When it started to shower, I thought, what a great time to put on my rain gear and rubber boots and stomp through puddles looking for worms. But sadly, I could not. When the raindrops stopped falling, Peaches came by to see if I wanted to scratch for grubs under the smelly bush. Excitedly, I said yes, before remembering that I was confined until further notice. I looked over at the shed and thought about the scooter that took me to new and exciting places. Now, it mocks me. I’m a free spirit! I wasn’t born to be restricted. I don’t know how much more of this I can take and it’s only been one day! I need to talk to Mom. I’ve decided that tomorrow I’m going to write her a note, and ask her to the coop for lunch. Peaches said that she would deliver it for me. I was thinking of begging her forgiveness with a grasshopper sandwich and a pot of chamomile tea. It’s always worked with Wilma. Wings crossed.
