September 11, 2013 –GREAT NEWS! I am no longer grounded!! Not so great news… the thermometer reached nearly 100 degrees today! Thank goodness for our fans and ice water. I felt like a Popsicle melting in a bowl of pea soup! By Sunday, it’s going to be back in the sixties and Sawyer, Peaches and I are going apple picking. I am so looking forward to being free again! Mom gave me a lecture that I probably deserved. She said that I should have told her about the Vespa right away and that I was wrong to have involved all of the other chickens in my scheme. I had “lied by omission”. Since I have no prior offenses (that she knows about), and because she loves me, Mom said that I could still use the scooter, with supervision, in our yard only. No highway driving and certainly, no going into the city. Such a pickle, since I was planning to take Peaches into Boston for a baseball game. I hear the peanuts outside of Fenway Park are out of this world!
