September 16, 2013 – We’ve been so busy with the new company, that Sawyer, Peaches and I almost forgot to sign up today for online language classes. I was surprised at how many other animals are interested in learning Swan like the three of us. The class is full! It’s going to be tough trying to squeeze in homework for the next six weeks, but we’ll do it. We’re going to study together. Lesson one is the call of the Trumpeter Swan. You should hear us! One might think we were a bevy of backed-up bugle players! Sawyer and I just about fell on the floor when Peaches puffed up her cheeks and blew a brassy “honk” out her beak. There was nothing romantic about it at all! We may never become fluent in this language of poets, but we’ll definitely have a few laughs!
