September 20, 2013 – The girls and I got together early this morning to attend another online lesson in Swan. We have a long way to go to before mastering the trumpeter dialect, but we’re making progress. We’re at least beyond the point of laughing hysterically at one another. Afterwards, I spent a couple of hours adjusting the moonshine recipe. Then, I helped Bo install the fermenter for the microbrewery, stared at a worm under my microscope, introduced the babies to the delicacy known as “blueberries” in Pullet Camp, laid a late afternoon egg, helped Sawyer find her way out of the run after she got turned around when a bumblebee flew at her head, and took a short stroll with Wilma to visit our friend Rosemary, Mrs. Turner’s dairy cow. I got home just before dark. Plenty of time to file my beak and nails with the emery board that Peaches gave me this year for my birthday. I don’t think I’ll have any trouble falling asleep tonight!
