September 25, 2013 – Mom hasn’t been working outside for a couple of days. Peaches said she overheard her on the phone telling Gram that it’s because of someone named, “Poison” Ivy. I don’t know who this Ivy person is, but if she’s threatening my Mom, she’s going to have to deal with the likes of us! We asked Chowdah, our basset hound, if he knew what was going on. He said that Mom’s fingers are all puffed up and her body has a rash on it. She’s so itchy that she has to wear her PJ’s… during the day! Somehow this Ivy person got to her and now she can’t wear underwear. (I’ll admit, we scratched our heads over that one.) Admittedly, Chowdah sleeps during most of the day but he’s fairly confident that no visitors stopped by this week. On the other hand, he did see a strange cat wander through the scrub bushes that border our property line just two days ago. A feline! I should have guessed! This cat named Ivy must have shot a poison dart at Mom while she was sitting near the window at her work desk! Chowdah assured us that Mom is going to be just fine. Nonetheless, we will be sending out a security detail tomorrow to look for Ivy the cat and her poison darts.
