October 24, 2013 – It was blustery today! The pullets had taken barely a couple of steps outside of their run when a feisty gust of wind swirled brown, crinkled leaves and pine needles into a twister over their heads. It scared the ba-hee-haws out of them! They about-faced in mid-air and made a hasty beeline back into the safety of their protected run. I’d say it was the inexperience of youth, until I watched Wilma scoot across the yard trying to outrun a gust of her own. It was the kind of sprinting where your butt arrives before you do. Oh, I had myself a jolly laugh over it… until she pecked me in the back of the head. Still funny.
