February 10, 2014 – Mom put the kibosh on my architectural drawings for a coop expansion. I see her point; the current structure is very roomy for the number of hens it houses, even if – to my point – there is a severe lack of storage space. She gave me the green light to build a foot locker, a storage garage, or… her favorite – storage space in the plans for the new brewery. This is all well and good, but there are certain items that I like to keep close to me. My bug collection, my colander helmet, laboratory garb, excavation kit, potholders, magnifying glasses, computers and electronic bits and pieces, my night vision goggles, my harmonica, guitar, ukulele, piccolo, my stamp collection… see what I mean?! I may need to ponder over this for a while. In the meantime, the younger girls love the new nest box, so really… hasn’t the issue resolved itself?
