Mom had us over for dinner tonight. This recipe has been a family favorite since the time we were kids! My goodness, it was good! Thanks, Mom!!
1 lb. hamburg
2 onions, chopped
1 can cream of celery soup
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 ½ c. water
1 tbsp. soy sauce
1/2 c. uncooked rice
1 c. chopped mushrooms or celery (you can also add corn or carrots)
1 can Chinese (Chow Mein) noodles
Brown hamburg until crumbly. Add all ingredients except noodles, mix well. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Bake in 2 ½ quart casserole dish, covered for 30 minutes. Uncover, top with can of Chow Mein noodles and bake for 20 minutes more. Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
