March 30, 2014 – It rained buckets today!! To pass the time, Wilma, Sawyer, Tim and I played a game we call, “Line up”. It works like this. Each of us takes a turn coming up with a clever line to follow the one uttered by the chicken before us. We keep going around in a circle until someone says something so funny that we all crack up and roll on the floor. It didn’t take long to accomplish high spirits and hysteria today. This is the exchange that sent piña colada spewing from my mouth into Tim’s eye. (Sorry about that, Tim.)
Wilma: “Hickory dickory dock,”
Tim: “The mouse ran up the clock,”
Me: “The clock struck one…”
Sawyer: “The rest came down with minor injuries.”
It was a clever and witty retort that Sawyer came up with, certainly. But it wasn’t the funniest part. She was laughing so hard before she delivered the line, that she wet her tail feathers, cackled uproariously, and laid an egg that rolled down Wilma’s back and landed in my lap. I couldn’t even catch my breath! It was hilarious! We had such a good time, that when we open the brewery next week, we’re going to name a new beer in her honor: Rolling Egg Ale. Look for it in a supermarket near you!
