May 14, 2014 – Holly the kitten is doing great! She looks like a princess from an intergalactic spaceship in her fabric cone. She says that everything sounds louder when she has it on, so I leaned in and yodeled. This made her laugh. A laughing cat can be scary, but not when it’s dressed like a satellite dish. We had a great visit, but she is still recuperating, so I didn’t stay long. As I was leaving the house, I passed the nasty adult feline, Sugar Plum in the hallway. She stood on the stairs holding my gaze with a suspicious leer.
“Hello, Cat.” I said, nodding in her direction.
“Hello, Hen.” She replied with a drawl.
I might have said more, but a frosty draft caught me on the nape of the neck and gave me the shivers. Sugar was wearing a smug look of satisfaction. I’m telling you, there’s something up with that one.
Later in the day, I shared a cup of tea and a plate of blueberries with Violet. She wanted to hear all about our night in the library. She suggested that I write a story about our escapades and after the book is published, send it to Eunice, the nervous librarian. I suggested that instead, we deliver the book in person! We both hooted over this and turned on the TV to watch Wheel of Fortune. Violet is an excellent puzzle solver.
