May 17, 2014 – We made it to the Town Hall yesterday five minutes before they closed for the weekend. Thankfully, Jackie Crumple, the Town Clerk, held open the window long enough for us to have our 2×2 photos taken for our passports. Our expressions were priceless. If you didn’t know, you might think that we had just returned from a day aboard the windswept bow of a party boat. But you can achieve the same look simply by spending an inexpensive afternoon with a group of animated hens in the back of a 1956 Dodge pickup truck.
Today’s plan is all about getting down to business. This morning we laid our eggs and worked in the brewery coming up with a new summer beer for the bowling alley. They want to feature a line that reflects their establishment. We’re torn between Lucky Strike Ale and Stinky Shoe Pilsner. We’re going to sleep on it before making a final decision. Later today, it’s all about filling out our passport applications so we can drop them off at the post office first thing Monday morning. If we finish before nightfall, we’re going to treat ourselves to grilled corn, pina coladas and our first outdoor movie night of the season. There’s a new bird flick we’ve been dying to see – Geese over Galveston. It’s a bit fowl, but we’ll watch it after the pullets have gone to bed.
It’s a full day, people – a full day.
