June 28, 2014 – Emaline stopped by Coop #3 this morning to ask if she might borrow my tube of cooling gel. She sat down on a decaying log near our brewery site and ended up with a couple of ant bites around her fluffy bits.
I knew I had what she was looking for, but first I had to wade through layers of long forgotten this and that. I finally found it sticking out under a silver potato masher which itself was hidden inside one polka-dotted, yellow rain boot.
“That’s it!” I said to Sawyer and Tim who were helping me look. “I think it’s time for a yard sale.”
“Ooh, a yard sale!” Emaline cheered. “That sounds great!”
“Actually, that’s the best idea you’ve had in a long time,” Wilma barked from outside the window.
“More room and a couple of extra bucks in our pocket,” Sawyer reasoned, “I think it’s a sound idea.”
“Maybe we’ll even make enough money to take another vacation!” I offered.
Heads snapped and gazes lingered.
“Are you serious?” Wilma said smushing her face into the wire screen.
“I’m with Red on this one,” Tim remarked nervously. “More than a few of us are still having nightmares over our last international adventure.”
“I’m kidding!” I laughed. “Don’t worry. We have no plans to board a plane anytime soon… though I did like those blow up pillows they give you that fit around your neck.”
“That must have been on the Paris flight,” Wilma sneered. “I had to use Peaches for my pillow.”
“Well, I for one think a yard sale is a smashing idea,” Emaline inserted putting the focus back on the matter at hand. “I think the other ladies are going to agree as well. Thanks for the cooling gel, Happy. I’m going to tell them about our plans. Let us know when you settle on a date.”
And just like that, we had a new project.
