July 28, 2014 – Peaches and I went for a lovely walk around town. I suggested that we cut through the woods and head over to Beaver Lake, but she was hesitant.
“I don’t know, Hap,” she said. “We seem to end up in the oddest situations when you say, I know a short cut.”
I suppose she was right. I let my mind wander as we walked and when it didn’t come back, it was Peaches who broke the silence.
“You know what always gets me down,” she asked seriously.
“What?” I replied.
“Gravity,” she laughed, pushing me off-balance.
“Hey,” I said pushing her back. “Did you know the Energizer Bunny was arrested? Yup. He was charged with battery.”
We both chuckled hard.
“Why is “abbreviation” such a long word?” Peaches said still laughing.
“I don’t know,” I said, hardly able to catch my breath. “That’s a good one!”
It was my turn again.
“Do you know that the word “gullible” isn’t in the dictionary?”
Like a shot Peaches was gone; back to the coop to grab her word book and look it up. (Sigh)… We were having such a fun time and as easy as that, the game was over. I decided not to take the shortcut and turned around. What good is an adventure when you’re by yourself?
