January 12, 2015 – I have been very, very busy over the last several days. I created a new flavor of beer for the Happy Chicken Brewing Company, (Winternoggin’ Dark Chocolate Lager – it’s one of my best, for sure!), and I have pontificated for hours on the back steps of Coop #3, upon the benefits of beak balm. My pointy pecker is smooth and crackle-free because of my winter, ChapStick regimen.
The other activity that has me moving and grooving is pulling together thoughts for the screenplay I am writing about our flock. I’ve been toying with the idea for months. I’m going to turn it into a movie in time to watch it this summer during one of our family activity nights. I love it when Mom hangs a sheet across the back of our run and we sit in our folding chairs munching on popcorn watching brilliant images flicker across the big screen. Some of my best memories are of movie night. I wish everyone could have as much fun.
Come to think of it, why not?! Perhaps a 3-day Film Festival might be in order! I could invite everyone we know! I’ll need a larger venue. It should be big but more interesting than the parking lot of the grain store. Someplace where our guests can ski or swim during the day and attend movie premiers at night. Oooh! This is good. I’ll need other films besides mine own, of course. Perhaps I should submit an advertisement to the Poultry Gazette in search of filmmakers? I’ll need a name… something to rival Cannes and Sundance. So much to work on! I should have a committee. I’ll see who in our flock wants to work with me and give the ladies at Mrs. Turner’s farm a call. Gertrude the goat loves the cinema… She’s eaten the screen of many an Oscar winner.
With so much going on, I can’t forget to eat! I heard Mom bought strawberries and bananas, so I’m heading up to the house for a little look-see. The last time I did that, I scored on leftover pizza and a half-jug of apple cider. Call it a hunch, but I have a feeling I’m going to hit it big today. I see a wormloaf sandwich in my immediate future. WHOO HOO! It’s a great day indeed!
